Deimante in Lithuania

Many of you have responded regarding the little girl, Deimante, in Lithuania. Again, we call on you, on behalf of this little girl. (If you are not familiar with this story, here is a link where you can be informed about this child.)

Then, there are some of you who have not responded on behalf of Deimante. She is a victim of human trafficking. Her innocence was taken from her at a very early age. What if…all of us responded, in this one case, and we all act on behalf of justice? What if…we understood what is stated in Micah 6:8, “…to do justice?”

We’ve all wondered before and said those words what if…What if I had chosen…you name it. Well, here is a what if you can answer relatively simply…The real question is, Will you?

Here is what we ask: There is a prepared and recommended letter below that we ask you to email to the names supplied. The names are to various officials within Lithuania. This way, we will be giving broad support across many legal and political fronts in Lithuania on behalf of Deimante. There is a link below that will open an email with the officials addressed or copy the list of email addresses and paste into an email. As well, cut and paste the letter and send it to each official listed.

What if this little girl was living in your neighborhood? What if you knew her, and had seen her playing out in her yard? What if…she was a member of your family? What would you do?

What if…you choose to do justice on behalf of this defenseless child? Will you?

Please. . .No. . .I urge you to cut and paste the recommended letter into an email to the authorities, judges and politicians listed below.

Looking for the day when justice and mercy will be made complete, but until then,

Milton

Recommended letter:

Dear Sir/Madam:

As a citizen of the world, I am writing you on behalf of Deimante Kedyte. As a citizen of the world, I know that Lithuania has ratified the laws of the Child Rights Convention. These laws give this young girl certain rights that you and your countrymen have agreed to uphold.

An honored writer from your history, Adomas Mickevičius, wrote, "Dovete adunque sapere come sono duo generazioni da combattere — bisogna essere volpe e leone."  ("You shall know that there are two ways of fighting — you must be a fox and a lion.")

This honored man of your culture and history has said it well. Now, I, and other world citizens ask you to be courageous, like a lion, on behalf of this child. I, we, ask you to be smart and wise, as a fox, to see the tricks and lies of those who would take a child’s innocence and safety from her.

I ask you to consider what is in the best interest of this child. I ask that you allow her to stay with her aunt, who has provided safety since Deimante’s father has died. I ask that you move like a lion to prosecute Deimante’s mother who has been complicit in egregious offenses against her own child. A fox would not so treat its own offspring. Finally, I protest that Deimante’s mother be allowed to represent her. When has it ever been right for those who are abusers to represent the victim? I ask that you move expediently, before the April 5th hearing, like a bold lion, to rectify this situation.

We, of the world, look on to see what kind of 'lion and fox' you will be.

Sincerely,
