The Alliance seeks to provide local churches and orphan advocates with ready access to the best resources, experts and organizational partners. In 2010, the Alliance Church Orphan Ministry Initiative (COMI) was created to spearhead these efforts, helping to stimulate and grow effective orphan ministry in the local church. Elements include:
The COMI Advisory Council
The COMI Advisory Council includes leaders from many of the strongest and most innovative church-based orphan ministries. These leaders help to shape, guide and implement COMI.
Resource Library
The Alliance’s Resource Library is a continually-growing repository of quality resources that support effective adoption, foster care and global orphan initiatives rooted in the local church.
Webinar Training
The monthly COMI webinar series gives local advocates access to the knowledge and experience of top Alliance member churches and organizations nationwide. Each webinar is hosted by a local church orphan ministry and co-presented by national experts on key topics related to adoption, foster care and/or global orphan care.
OrphanHub
OrphanHub provides a central online gathering place for Christians passionate for the Gospel and the orphan. It interlinks veterans and newcomers alike for information exchange, mentoring and partnership related to adoption, foster care and global orphan ministry.
Trusted Partners
The Alliance membership process identifies trustworthy partners for local churches for adoption, foster care and global orphan ministry. For membership, each must exhibit the highest commitment to fiscal integrity, good governance and the Gospel of Christ.
Other Initiatives
From the annual Summit to each year’s Orphan Sunday campaign, all Alliance-led initiatives seek to help grow effective, Christ-honoring orphan ministry.
