Responsibilities include conducting/supervising home studies and post placements; conducting home study orientation meetings and training for families; conducting training for home study coordinators; assisting public relations managers with adoption fellowship groups and seminars as needed; meeting with families in the office or at the family’s home during or after business hours; setting up a network of as-needed social workers to conduct home studies and post placements with families. Position Title: Finance Assistant
Description: This position will support the ministry by completing daily tasks related to the processing of incoming donations. He/she will often provide the first contact with VisionTrust donors, vendors, and potential partners.
Personal Responsibilities:
1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This involves being a consistent witness of Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the ministry. Refrains from any conduct that may bring the ministry into question and faithfully upholds the ministry in prayer.
2. Be an advocate for ministry and children in poverty. This involves raising awareness and challenging those within one’s sphere of influence to greater involvement.
Task Responsibilities:
• Incoming Mail Processing: Process incoming mail, photo copy donations, and create bank deposit slip according to Finance procedures.
• Batching and Receipting: Process donation batches in the VTI database on a daily basis, identify odd or special items that need attention during receipting, prepare cover sheet for proofing, print and mail receipts according to Finance protocol.
• Donor Contact: Create donor letters / emails / telephone calls regarding financial transactions as directed by Finance protocol to include proper documentation of interactions in Constituent cards.
• Donor Research: Research donation history in cooperation with other departments, provide accurate information based on the VTI database, hard copy documents, and other software applications.
• Filing: Maintain corporate finance files (current, and archive files).
• Database Maintenance: Update, correct, and create new contacts in the ministry’s database.
• Receptionist: Handle all inbound calls and visitors to VisionTrust as needed.
Knowledge, Ability and Skills Required:
