Chance for Adoptive Families to Speak into the Intercountry Adoption Process

*NOTE:  The initial form of this post noted that it was USCIS offering this survey.  In fact, the survey was created and is being circulated at the request of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  As stated in the survey description below, results received by February 14th will be used by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to inform an upcoming roundtable discussion on intercountry adoption.  The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute administered the online survey and is assisting in collecting the results.

Today opened an important opportunity for families who have adopted internationally to help improve the inter-country adoption process.  The U.S. State Foreign Relations Committee is circulating a survey to receive feedback on the experiences of adoptive families when interacting with U.S. government officials.  This represents a great opportunity to help improve the current process.  Note that all questions should be answered based on a family’s personal experience with U.S. government officials (not with adoption agency representatives).  Responses will be consolidated and presented in a cumulative format. No personal identifying information will be divulged.

Results received by February 14 at 5:00pm will be made available to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for use in an upcoming roundtable on intercountry adoption. The survey will remain open until March 1.

    This is not a survey hosted by USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Service). This is a survey hosted by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI). Please represent the survey honestly so that parents know their audience.

    As was pointed out previously (and, I will note, 15 hours ago according to the post), this is neither a USCIS survey. Nor a Senate Foreign Relations Committee survey. It is not sponsored by *any* U.S. government entity or agency. It is being fielded by CCAI, a non-profit adoption advocacy organization. I am assuming you are just misinformed, but you are still leading people to believe that this is some type of official attempt by government to gather information. Please be responsible in your advocacy efforts.

    I just read the original post and wonder if any replies to the survey prior to your correction are being deleted due to those respondents assuming the survey was done by someone completely different? Seems like the only ethical course to follow.
